Have any of you ever felt invisible before? Many of the kids in our class have. If you’ve felt this way, this book is for you! We read The Invisible Boy, by Trudy Ludwig. This book would be loved by any first through fifth grader. We felt that this book deserves 4.5 out of five stars. We liked it because it gave a strong message about what happens to many children everyday at school. The Invisible Boy is about a boy named Brian who feels invisible when he is at school. His classmates don’t notice him or include him. He feels empty and disconnected. No one talked to him or invited him to play which makes him feel like he lacks color inside. Everything changes when a new boy comes to school and notices and befriends Brian! The Invisble Boy teaches us about the importance of being kind to one another. Many kids feel invisible like Brian and are sad going to school. Make sure to notice if other kids seem lonely or isolated and include them. Reading this book made us feel moved as community members.
